Sunday Morning, May 1
Prosperity Series
"It IS About the Money"
Rev. Linda Martella-Whitsett
We may breathe easier when we hear a prosperity guru proclaim prosperity is not just about the money. It is not, for sure. But it IS about money, because money is a form of currency, energy in motion. Let's talk about money, on Sunday in church.
Social hour following the service this Sunday.

Youth Ministry News
A summary of the children's Sunday morning, April 24, Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday, Jesus' resurrection was the focus of our final discussion in our study of "Season of Peace and Non-violence." We read from, The Kid's Study Bible, Matthew 28:1-10 and discussed a simple point of view of how Jesus is the Way Show-er, of how he is the living example for us to be.
Study questions:
1. Who met Mary Magdalene and the other Mary at Jesus' Tomb? What did this Angel look like?
2. What did the Angel tell the women?
3. How did the women show how much they loved Jesus?
4. How do you/we show how much we love someone? Parents? Relatives? Bothers/Sisters?
Meditation: Caterpillar turning into a butterfly as a simple analogy of what a magnificent transformation Jesus made.
Activity: The children made a butterfly collage and expressed themselves; "If I were a butterfly what would I look like?"

About Youth & Family Cooperative Ministry
UCSA Youth & Family Cooperative Ministry is a fun, loving and creative environment where volunteers have the opportunity to contribute to the unfolding Christ consciousness of UCSA youth. Rev. Linda Martella-Whitsett is passionate about the children's spiritual education. Our fabulous team of volunteers is organized by the YM director, Louis Nelson, who has many responsiblities, the most important being to uphold the vision of a thriving and empowering YM program that honors the Light in each unique individual and the collective Light of our Oneness. As a spiritual youth community, we provide a safe place of love and acceptance where our children and teens experience the recognition of their oneness with God.
Our purpose is to create programs and experiences that invite the Divine potential in each individual to grow and expand. Using the tools of affirmative prayer, "Living Curriculum," meditation and service, we model and teach Unity Truth principles as a way of life.

Youth & Family Cooperative Ministry Mission Statement
"We create an empowering, loving, creative space that allows our children's divine nature to flow through them in imaginative ways."
Unity's Five Basic Principles 1. There is only one power and one presence in the universe, God, who is all good and active in everything, everywhere. 2. I am naturally good because God's divinity is in me and in everyone. 3. I create my experiences by what I choose to think and what I feel and believe. 4. Through affirmative prayer and meditation I connect with God and bring out the good in my life. 5. I do and give my best by living the Truth I know. I make a difference. | |
